Description
For your take-home final exam, please write 1,500 words on the following prompt: As we learned, William Penn founded the colony of Pennsylvania with five overlapping goals in mind. Two of his most important goals were creating a Holy Experiment (where everyone was treated by Quaker tenants of equality) and creating a profitable colony. During the last 325+ years, some Pennsylvanians were treated equally legally and socially and some Pennsylvanians prospered, yet not all Pennsylvanians were seen as equals and not all Pennsylvanians prospered. Using at least one example from each of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, answer the following question: Which group or groups were unable to achieve these goals and why were they unable to achieve them?
