The School-Community Relations Proposal is the fourth part of the Benchmark Assignment:Community Resources Alignment Project.

The assignment is divided into four parts for submission. All four parts will be checked for originality through Turnitin.com within the appropriate modules/weeks. You will also submit the School-Community Relations Proposal with the other components of this assignment in Module 8: Week 8 through LiveText.

This assignment is the consummation of the Community Resources Alignment Project. Consider the following as you complete this final part:

Community Partner Needs Assessment:Conduct a needs assessment of community partners to identify at least four specific needs they have that the school might be able to fulfill.  Report these four needs and create a plan for the school to assist in meeting them.  Service learning involving students may be one example.  If so, the community service should be developmentally appropriate for the age of participating students.  Another example would be for faculty and/or parents to serve to meet the community needs.  Outline details of how the plan will be carried out and how specific community needs will be met.

Community Partnerships:Beyond isolated community service projects as outlined in the previous activity, how do you propose at least four ways the school will develop effective, sustainable, long-range relationships with community partners?  Avoiding generalities, outline the particulars of such relationships.  What would be the nature of the relationships?  How would such relationships be mutually beneficial?  Community organizations in this section of the project need not be the same as those in the preceding section.

Community Involvement in School Decision-Making:Propose a plan for community partners to be involved in decision-making processes at the school.

This proposal must be 3–5 pages not includinga title page, abstract, and reference page with at least two references (published within 8 years) in current APA format. This assignment will be checked for originality through Turnitin.com within the module.
