Part 1: Unemployment and Welfare: Cause and Impact Analyze
Instructions: In this task, you are going to work with our welfare (Sweden’s) system and unemployment, which is one of our welfare problems.
a) Start by explaining the causes of unemployment.
Proceed from Swedish conditions and start from a societal perspective. Remember to problematize the reasons you give.
b) Then explain what the consequences of unemployment can be. Remember to proceed both from the individual’s perspective and from a societal perspective.
c) Then explain what measures can be put in place to solve the causes and consequences of unemployment.

Part 2: The welfare model and unemployment
Our welfare is also built on different models of society. In Sweden, there are the three models: the Basic Security Principle (Grundtrygghetsprincipen) the Needs Assessment Model (Behovsprövingsprincipen) and the Income Loss Principle (Inkomstbortfallsprincipen).
