Description
The next step in the process of preparing a research proposal involves collecting information that will help to answer the question you prepared in Week 1.
Using your carefully crafted research question from Week 1, you will prepare an annotated bibliography. The annotated bibliography will include the following:
References to at least 6 peer-reviewed journal articles
You must indicate if each journal article is a qualitative or quantitative study.
What information you gleaned from that source (this should be written underneath each source listed)
Other resources (e.g., Web sites or online encyclopedias) can be used, but they do not count toward the 6 required sources. Keep in mind that the research question will serve as the basis for all sources found and documented in the bibliography.
Residents Are Not Opening Up During Group Process Meetings
Residents Are Not Opening Up During Group Process Meetings
Introduction
The residential treatment center (RTC) is designed to explore the individual idea of the members and the view of other people (Matsushima, 2017). In addition, they are also designed to share certain information and hear about other people’s views and perspectives. They are also recognized for providing treatment services for different drug use issues, mentor disorders, and other behaviour-related issues. The residential treatment centre can also offer group therapy and other ways of helping young people with behavioural and emotional problems (Matsushima, 2017). In the RTC, the residents are expected to demonstrate honesty and openness. Failure to do so would mean that the fundamental nature of the residential treatment centre is not guaranteed. For the research proposal, I have chosen, Residents are not opening up during group process meetings (there seems to be a lack of trust or cohesion in the group) as my problem.
Research questions
1. What are the factors contributing to a lack of trust or cohesion in the group?
2. How can mutual trust be created in a residential treatment center (RTC)?
3. How can residents in the residential treatment center (RTC) be compelled to tell the truth?
Literature review
Answering the research question will help the residential treatment center (RTC) understand the scenario and the problem in different ways. For example, it will help the residential treatment center (RTC) understand the core factors contributing to a lack of trust or cohesion (Greenebaum, 1985). Answering the research question will also help the RTC establish ways of creating mutual trust and establishing how residents in the residential treatment centre are compelled to tell the truth (Brodie, 2017).
Methodology
The study will adopt a systematic review of the data collection method. It involves the identification, critical appraisal, and synthesis of both the primary and secondary data. Systematic data is designed to provide a comprehensive contribution to research based on different scholarly data. Different secondary data will be collected and subjected to critical analysis to identify the information collected patterns and trends. The study will identify a reliable source of data such as Google Scholar, and all the journals used in the study will be peer-reviewed. The data analysis will involve using critical appraisal tools to assess the reliability and quality of the selected sources of data to ensure that the study materials are reliable. The information will then be compounded to capture the essential elements, and a summary method will be employed to avoid generalization.
Conclusion
The residential treatment center (RTC) is designed to explore the individual idea of the members and other people’s views. In the RTC, the residents are expected to demonstrate honesty and openness. For the research proposal, I have chosen Residents are not opening up during group process meetings (there seems to be a lack of trust or cohesion in the group) as my problem. The study wills seek to answer three research questions: What factors contribute to a lack of trust or cohesion in the group? How can mutual trust be created in a residential treatment centre (RTC)? And how can residents in the residential treatment centre (RTC) be compelled to tell the truth? Answering the above research question will help the residential treatment center (RTC) understand the scenario and the problem.
