RESEARCH PAPER PROPOSAL (80 POINTS)
You will choose a topic in the area of Christian counseling that you are interested in researching. Do not use a paper, a portion of a paper, or topic you have used in previous classes; this will not be accepted. For this proposal assignment, you will include the topic you have chosen and an explanation of the topic/research intent. You have some freedom with the topic. As a guideline, you may choose from topics including, but not limited to, the following:
• Counseling Children
• Counseling Adolescents
• Marriage & Family Counseling
• Substance Abuse/Addiction
• Mental Health Conditions
• Grief and Loss Counseling
• Anxiety and Depression

Include the following in the research paper proposal:
1. Page 1 – A title page in current APA format, which includes the topic you have chosen for the paper.
2. Page 2 – Provide at least 250 words explaining what issue you plan to address in the paper as well as some of the main points that you will attempt to research and discuss.
3. Note that in your research paper you will be asked to integrate Christian counseling theories in your discussion of this issue.
For example, if choose depression as your topic, you should discuss how Christian Counseling theories speak to our understanding of this issue and/or its treatment.
4. This assignment should be written in 3rd person.
