Type out short answers to the following questions, upload them with your probate list, and be prepared to discuss these ideas:
1) What sorts of information and inferences about societies or individuals can be determined from an examination of such records? Why are they useful to historic archaeologists?
2) What sorts of information about yourself do you think someone could determine by looking at your room inventory?
3) Imagine an earthquake destroyed your dormitory, apartment or house, burying all your possessions. How much of your inventoried material property would still exist in 100 years? In 1000 years? How would these changes in the material residue of your life alter what future archaeologists could say about who you were and what you did?
