Essay Requirements

Write an essay between 500-750 words (not counting the Works Cited page)
Begin with a title that gives a head’s up about your topic
Have a distinct introduction, body, and conclusion
Have a thesis that makes an analytical and interpretive claim about the literature.
The goal of this essay is to analyze the literature and use the analysis to support your thesis. Essays that only contain summary with not score higher than a C.
Include direct quotes from the literature, so you have text to close read. Make sure to explain the significance of all direct quotes. But don’t use too many quotes; the focus should be on what you think about the quote.
You should not consult outside materials or secondary sources.
Use MLA format, 8th edition for in-text citations and the Works Cited page
